Is it worth upgrading to Vista?

Windows Vista Bets 2 (the version for general public) was released by Microsoft in mid July. The whole DVD ISO is available on their website for free download.

In order for me to upgrade to vista, I have to buy new computers. My 3 laptops are 2, 3 and 5 years old. These computers can not run Vista but they work fine with XP pro. Better yet, my brand new Core 2 Duo desktop is still not enough for vista because it has just 1 GB of ram. I don't get anything by upgrading except the extra cost of new hardware and software, nicer interface and the gadget bar. This is real bad that I need to have 2 GB of ram to run Vista Ultimate Ed. In addition, half of the resent software does not work with Vista any more. You have to buy the same software that is designed for Vista. Does Bill think that everyone will run and buy new computer to have vista? Well may be some people will get new computers for Vista but not me. I get what I need with XP.

I remember reading an article somewhere with the title "Vista eats Laptop battery for Lunch". heh!

So what do you guys say?
